NEW SUBJECT

I have decided to focus on a new subject - something that I can become more interested in.
SUBJECT:  art therapy/art used as therapy
I want to look at artists that use art to express themselves, to help deal with psychological issues and discover their identity.

This subject interests me as I have always looked at the psychological reasons why I create things as an artist - I feel like my identity, the way I view the world and my emotions control how my art is formed.

(I felt a little bad that I had changed my concept - yet my first concept was something that I felt I should be doing, I felt like I was forcing a concept when I need to find something that I can really sink my teeth into and something that really interests me).

I have always focused on self-expression e.g. abstract paintings, symbolism, work relating to my emotions, poetry etc. So this seems like it would be a natural subject to focus on.

ADVICE (from James): I would say you need to emphasise 'contemporary' art, as all your examples are rather old.

So basically work on finding more modern examples of art therapy used in contemporary art.
